Sandara Park and her family moved to the Pasay City, Philippines in 1995 when she was 11. She begin her career in 2004 under ABS-CBN talent show called "Star Circle Quest". Luckily, she got approximately half million votes from her Filipino fans that made her stay up to the finals and end up in 2nd place. It's been a great start for Dara getting more projects from ABS-CBN including local commercial endorsements, television shows and also becoming a host.

Dara returned to South Korea on August 1, 2007 with her mother and siblings. The next day, YG Entertainment reported that they had signed a contract with Sandara Park. The group name initially announced as "21", however, they've discovered that there's a singer with the same name. Hence, they changed it to "2ne1", where "NE" means New Revolution.
In April 18, 2011, Dara has been promoted to be the Communications Director of 2ne1.
